# Barrel Distribution

Beginning our journey is the **American Genesis Collection**. In our initial collection, we hope to release 10,500 barrels distributed as follows and prioritized accordingly:

* **4,000** barrels for public mint.
* **250 barrels** reserved for current and future employees.
* **1,000 barrels** reserved for the Founders of The Graine Ledger Distillery.

The remaining barrels (5,250) will be [**insurance barrels**](/guides/barrel-ownership.md#barrel-insurance) for each member of our owner community (each barrel will come with its own duplicate) as an insurance policy. During the production process, there may be accidents, and we want to guarantee the security of your whiskey. \
\
We will release a single [**mash bill**](/fundamentals/mash-bills.md) that is owner community selected to be distilled by The Graine Ledger. Following the **Code of Federal Regulations, Title 27, Chapter I, Subchapter A, part 5, Subpart C**, each will meet the legal requirements of a **bourbon whiskey**. Offering either a high rye, traditional, wheated, or random-number generated mash bill elected by barrel owners. Owners will also have limited customization options for this collection but still just enough to make the whiskey in your barrel truly unique.

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation dynamically by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the current page URL with the `ask` query parameter, and the optional `goal` query parameter:

```
GET https://docs.thegraineledger.com/collections/the-american-genesis-collection/barrel-distribution.md?ask=<question>&goal=<endgoal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is optional and describes the broader end goal you are ultimately trying to accomplish on behalf of the user. GitBook uses it to tailor the answer towards what is most useful for that goal.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
